NdFeB
Major
Attributes:
· Highest energy in whole permanent magnet family,
ranging from 26 to 48 MGOe.
· Very high resistance to demagnetization
· Easy for forming and processing
· Higher price than Low Energy Magnets (AlNiCo &
Ceramics) but cheaper than SmCo
· Corrosive and should be coated in some
applications
· Lower operating temperature than SmCo, <
200°C (390°F)
Typical
Applications:
· Automotive & commercial speakers
· Microphones & headsets
· Magnetic separators
· Linear motors & actuators
· Motors & generators
· Computer hard disc drives & CD-ROM drives
· Sensors
· Power tools
· MRI & other medical applications
